Hosting comes with a short free trial, but to help subsidise the cost of operating a service like this, $6 per 3 months (2024 prices) is the fee. Yes, this is technically sold at a small loss, but if there are multiple hosters, the cost will balance out
- Sites with lots of requests/CPU/disk usage is allowed, however, be aware that the PHP is a single thread, and lots of CPU time could freeze your site up, as well as slow other sites.
- And once my 31GB of SD card storage (more since on HDD) is up, it is up.
- Yes, you can run commands, like `uptime -p`, but `passwd` and `htop` block the main thread.
- Yes, I have backups, but let's not test them too early :)
