They squabbled until too much pressure was put on the pencil, and it snapped and flung itself slightly.
that was my pencil! you took my pencil!
A split second later, the teacher loudly intervened "You idiots, you could've got hurt", and removed the automatic sharpener, mumbling "or damaged this nice sharpener". Walking back, a deep breath was taken.
"There are more pencils, but be responsible" went the teacher's calm voice
Passing over the red pencil case, 2 pencils were picked, and the students calmed down.
Other students chattered to themselves, mostly about the commotion, before somehow quietening before the teacher could say "Indoor voices".
"What was that whispering", and similar phrases were heard.
The teacher walked towards the wall where the whispering was coming from, and realised the new white wall-speaker had been quietly spouting propaganda. Taking a green spray bottle, and squirting 3 times, the whispers became more metallic before the speaker failed.
"Why did you spray the speaker", asked a student
"That speaker has been spouting useless propaganda", came the reply
"I don't think we are allowed to criticise the speech… but I agree", the student replied
"Let's just… keep this between us", the teacher told the class, who agreed.
